It's like we're travelling parallel paths… my injury is L4 L5 and the pain radiates from there into my S.I. joint then down my right leg to my ankle and big toe! Mine is more a pain in the ass, I suppose!
ReplyDeleteI've had everything you've explained treatment-wise; just finished my 2nd epidural steroid injection 2 weeks ago, and right now am going strong, only at about a 3 on 10 for pain – a huge relief!
Hope to avoid the surgery route, but seeing how you've come through it and how positive you are is encouraging none the less.
Thanks for sharing! xoLeesie
leesie - oh no! i had thought you were back up and running. i'm sorry to hear you're still having issues. the epidurals were quite helpful, and i've heard they can 'fix' the problem forever. i am hopeful that works for you and you can avoid the surgery. sending you big hugs and get well vibes. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMel, Thanks for sharing all of this info. I knew you had had surgery but I didn't realize how serious it was. I'm glad you're healing now! My sister has had problems w/her spine also. I am going to share this with her in the hope that she will benefit.
ReplyDeleteReally bad luck to have such an unexpected injury through something as benign as Yoga. Hoping you make a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteHi, Thank you for sharing your experience. I just had my MRI yesterday and awaiting results, but my symptoms sound very similar to yours. My doctor as already brought up the idea of surgery as a potential as I've been dealing with pain for months, and just recently woke up unable to move my neck at all, and severe pain in my neck and radiating down my arm, numbness, and constant headache. I have been in PT for months for neck and back pain, but it is not resolving itself. In your experience, were you glad you tried alternative treatments prior to surgery? Would you recommend further conservative treatment before undergoing surgery?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much and hope you are feeling much better now!
